Not exactly — and on purpose. The regular session fee is fully waived, and selected projects pay only a $50 Portfolio Participation Fee. It's a portfolio collaboration at a selected portfolio rate, not a giveaway.
It partially covers planning, local travel, gas, booking administration, gallery preparation and digital storage. The discovery video call itself is always free.
Once your session is confirmed, the fee is non-refundable — it definitively reserves your date. You can reschedule once with at least 72 hours notice.
Angie personally reviews every application, looking for five stories that best represent the services she's building in the Bay Area. Shortlisted applicants are invited to a free discovery video call before the final selection. Applying doesn't guarantee acceptance.
For the Founding Five, yes — that's the heart of the collaboration. Participants sign an image-use release allowing Angie to use the photographs on her website, portfolio, social media, advertising and promotional materials. You keep permission to use and share your photos for personal purposes. For regular paid sessions, publishing is optional and discussed with you.
No — Angie Bay Photos is not a studio. Sessions happen outdoors across San Francisco, Marin and the Bay Area, or in your home when the light, space and concept are right.
Yes, for some maternity, family, lifestyle and personal-branding sessions. Angie will ask for a few photos or a short video of the space first, to check natural light and conditions. Spaces with good natural light get priority; heavy furniture won't be moved.
Bay Area weather gets a plan B. If the forecast is truly bad, we reschedule together at no cost — fog, on the other hand, is often gorgeous, and Angie will tell you honestly which is which.
Of course — many sessions are designed around them. Direction is adapted to kids, the pace stays flexible, and nobody expects a toddler to pose. Natural beats perfect.
Yes, at most outdoor locations — just tell Angie in advance so the location allows pets and the plan includes them. Bring a leash and a helper if your dog is very energetic.
No — wardrobe is provided by you. Every session includes a wardrobe guide with recommendations, and Angie reviews your options during planning.
No — hair and makeup are not included. Angie can recommend timing so your hair and makeup look their best at the session hour.
No. Entrance fees, permits or charges required by a specific location (including San Francisco City Hall reservations) are not included and are paid by the client. Angie helps you understand what a location requires before you book.
San Francisco, San Rafael, Marin County, Sausalito, Mill Valley, Tiburon, Oakland, Berkeley, San Mateo, Palo Alto and Napa Valley are the usual range. Other Bay Area points are possible subject to availability and a travel fee, always communicated before you book.
Yes — once, with at least 72 hours notice, for Founding Five sessions. For regular sessions, rescheduling terms are in your contract. Weather-related rescheduling initiated by Angie never counts against you.
It depends on the session — each card on the Sessions page lists its own delivery time. A mini session is ready the next business day; portraits and couples in about 5 business days; family and maternity in 7; engagements in 10. Weddings get a sneak peek within 48 hours and the full gallery in 3–6 weeks depending on the collection.
Three months from delivery — upgraded to a full year, free, for every session booked during August 2026. Wedding collections always include a full year. You'll get a reminder before your gallery expires, and you can download everything to keep forever.
Yes — extended storage will be available as an add-on, and you can always download everything to keep forever.
Yes — every delivered photograph gets professional adjustments to color, light and cropping, plus discreet retouching of temporary things (a blemish, a bruise, a stray hair). Bodies and identity features are never modified without your express request and prior agreement. You'll still look like you — on a very good day.
No. Professional color, light and crop adjustments and discreet temporary retouching, yes — changing bodies or identity features, no, unless you expressly request it and we agree on it beforehand.
A professional portrait usually framed from the chest or shoulders up — the image you use on LinkedIn, your website, professional bios, corporate directories, media, business cards, social profiles, presentations and marketing materials.
Spontaneous vertical videos and quick, share-ready content captured during your wedding — Stories moments, Reels and TikTok clips, getting-ready details, ambience and reactions — captured by our wedding content creator on phone or lightweight gear.
No. A videographer produces a cinematic, professionally edited wedding film. Wedding content creation is fast, casual, vertical content for social media. They complement each other; one doesn't replace the other.
Yes — enthusiastically. Every couple and every family is welcome here, and every story is photographed with the same care.
